Being Average.

I think I've just discovered something. People actually don't want to know about how happy you are. They don't want to hear you gloat, brag, or light up about how something or someone that makes you so elated. They might once or twice but in general I think it brings out a feeling of "oh shut up already" so if you share your happiness, you must censor and limit it. which blows.
So I always knew people dont want to hear about your troubles. they dont want to know whats wrong, even if they ask. they tire of hearing your problems because they have enough problems of their own. I have come to the conclusion that the average person, the average friend, only wants to hear your life is average good and average bad. if its awful, please keep to yourself. if its amazing, don't rub it in.

The only people who care when you're at your highs and your lows are your real friends.
The average friend only wants to hear you are just that- average.

Cynical much? maybe.
but i think i am on to something here.

My She-roe: Maya Angelou


Maybe when you look at a page with massive amounts of quotes, it kind of makes each quote a little bit less special, and its harder to appreciate the depth of a real great quote when it is right beside another great one. But I could never pick a favorite with these... I have always loved so many Maya Angelou quotes (and poems etc). But at this juncture of my life every single word I read speaks so loudly to me and fills me with a strong sense of agreement and inspiration. I know some people like to go through life saying that they have "no regrets" and usually I try to take the lesson out of my mistakes to not look at them as regrets. But this mistake, I do regret: When Maya Angelou was at Chapman University in the spring of 2007, I didn't ditch my class to hear her speak. (Way to be responsible at the wrong time) And I regret that, so much. I should have gone to listen to her speak, I will always regret not going. So that has to go on my bucket list for me to cross off, as soon as possible.

Dalai Lama words of wisdom

Here are some of my favorite quotes from his holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso. (I still wish I could have seen him speak at USC last week!)

And I like Michael too, even if its not creative, so what?!?!
Jackson- Now... does that mean just that spelling or is JAXON also bad?? Sorry Cassidy, these people are wrong, everyone is naming their kid Jackson/Jaxon so its not a hated name!
Bertha and Gertrude- that's a joke right?? Nobody names their baby that
Aiden is popular, not hated. but I do agree everyone tries to rhyme them, hayden, jayden... not still, not the most hated baby names! Pssh
KAITLYN? I'm sorry don't listen to them.
And what is wrong with Makalya?? Sorry Kimberly, don't listen to them either.
I will say I dont really like the Navaeh but it is cool that its heaven backwards... I don't know though.
 
This is a pretty bad list. Maybe I should make my own. Except who would make a list of the most hated names? that is just straight up mean. There are too many names on here of people that I like, some of them being babies!
 
Maybe we should all just name all the babies "Ladan. " Yeah, that has a nice ring to it.

Reason, Season, or Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.
When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON:
It is usually to meet a need you have expressed
They may seem like a godsend, and they are
They are there for the reason you need them to be
Then without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to and end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, and their work is done.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON :
Because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done
They usually give you an unbelieveable amount of joy
Believe it is real, but only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.
